Review and release day: Down by Contact

My 5 star review in the end of this post!!!

DOWN BY CONTACT (The Barons #2):

Simeon Boudreaux, the New York Barons’ golden-armed quarterback, is blessed with irresistible New Orleans charm and a face to melt your mama’s heart. He’s universally adored by fans and the media. Coming out as gay in solidarity with his teammate hasn’t harmed his reputation in the least—except for some social media taunting from rival linebacker Adri├ín Bravo.

Though they were once teammates, Adri├ín views Simeon as a traitor and the number-one name on the New Jersey Predators’ shit list. When animosity between the two NFL players reaches a boiling point on the field, culminating in a dirty fist fight, they’re both benched for six games and sentenced to joint community service teaching sullen, Brooklyn teens how to play ball.

At first, they can barely stand to be in the same room, but running the camp forces them to shape up. With no choice but to work together, Simeon realizes Adri├ín is more than his alpha-jerk persona, and Adri├ín begins to question why he’s always had such strong feelings for the gorgeous QB…

DOWN BY CONTACT is out January 16, 2018.

Subgenres: m/m contemporary sports romance; enemies-to-lovers.

Teaser
I extended one arm so I could lightly touch the corner of his mouth. “You’ve got something right there.”
The dark wings of his brows crashed down in consternation, and a flood of conflicting emotions danced across his striking face, but none of them was indignant or annoyed or disgusted—the reactions I was used to getting from straight men when I touched them and they weren’t interested. Or sometimes even when I touched them because of interest that was obvious to me and not to their own selves. Denial was powerful in most men, but Adri├ín Bravo settled on intrigued.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
I brushed the pad of my finger against his lips, wiping the syrup away even though it left the remnants of sticky residue. Touching his mouth sent my thirst into hyperactive overdrive, and my mind betrayed me. Filled with images of dragging him closer for a messy kiss where I used my tongue to get him clean right before dragging him to the bathroom to get really nasty.
Where was my common sense? My inner angel to tell me to stop craving this bastard just because he had a pretty face and, according to him, a talented dick? Hadn’t I learned my lesson? My dick going from half-mast to fully risen proved otherwise. I would absolutely go down on him in the bathroom if the opportunity arose. I could hate him even while he was in my mouth.
He wasn’t reacting as much as I wanted him to, so I dropped my hand next to his and upped the ante.
“You got some on your fingers too.”

“Yeah? You gonna get all mother hen on me about that too?”
He thought he was so cool and collected. It was kind of cute how much he underestimated my competitive spirit.
“Not quite mother hen, but . . .”

I grabbed his hand after a quick scan of the diner, and brought it to my lips. His arm locked up briefly, a spasm going through his fingers, but he didn’t fight. Not when I parted my lips, and not when I enveloped the syrup-covered digits with my mouth. I sucked the syrup off, suctioning harder than I needed to for the current situation, and flicked my tongue.
“Oh fuck.”
We locked eyes. There was no hiding how dilated his had become. The way his breathing had picked up, or the bouncing of his knee.
I slid my mouth off, leaving his fingers coated in saliva, and grinned.
“I won this round, Bravo.”
Adrián grabbed a napkin with trembling hands and roughly wiped his fingers.
“Yeah. I guess you did.”

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Book #2 in The Barons series can be read as a standalone but it makes the reading experience better if you read in order because characters from book #1 is appearing in this book.

I love the Barons and the story of Simeon and Adrián is intense, in the beginning I despised Adrián but longer out in the story his behaviour made some sense. He is learning a thing or two about himself and the personal growth is a sweet thing in this story.

Hassell has the best way of writing a story that totally takes over your mind and leaves you wanting to read forever.

There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a lot of dialogues so the story flows very well and I have trouble setting my Kindle down.

Characters descriptions is well done and I get the feeling of knowing them on a personal level, I love when a author manages to make me feel that way because that means my heart is in to the story.

The storyline makes is very good and it goes forward steadily and is not rushed or to slow. Even though I didn’t like Adri├ín much in the beginning there’s no denying the connection between him and Simeon, it’s hot and sizzling from the beginning and the love scenes is emotional and hot.

Another win in my book for this m/m romance. 5 čîč

SEX, NOT LOVE
 (A standalone novel)
Release date 1/15/2018

A Contemporary Romance Novel

#1 New York Times Bestselling Author
Vi Keeland

BLURB:
My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards.

We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s.  Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction.

I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter.  Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us.  His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off.  But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me.

We ended up back in my hotel room.  The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number.

I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby.  Our attraction hadn't dulled one bit.  After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time.  So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home.

I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner.  The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city.  He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems.

Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?

Nothing, I thought.
It’s just sex, not love.
But you know what they say about the best laid plans…

Review: Insidious

Insidious Insidious by Aleatha Romig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Twisted, wicked book

Victoria’s story is so twisted and weird that it’s absolutely captivating.

The storyline is very good and I both loved and hated the ending because it left me with questions.

I’ve been a fan of this author from the first book I read one of her books and this book is as good as any of the other. My reasons for loving the book:
* no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* lots of dialogues
* good characters descriptions
* lots of surprise turns in the story
* hot love scenes

This was a unique story that shifted between past and present and it worked very well for this book.

Excellent 5 stars ⭐️ romance thriller.

This is another book filled with emotions and great writing.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues, I’m a addicted reader of these stories.

Characters descriptions is very good and the storyline is good although I questioned Beth’s decision at some point in the book, but what the h.... it’s fiction.

Great 5 star read romance with depth and passion.

Quotes and Highlights:

“I don’t want to stop. I don’t want to come. I don’t want anything but her. I’ve never been this terrified.“

Review: All I Want

All I Want All I Want by J. Daniels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great read

I love this book even more than the first in this series if it’s possible. Tessa and Luke is having sort of a relationship when something happens to break them up. After a year it all gets even more complicated.

Grumpy Luke is completely adorable and irritating but Tessa can handle him.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues and there’s no no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings. I enjoyed this book very much and the audio is great listening to.

Lots of feelings and hot love scenes is very describing for this book.

5 stars ⭐️ from me for a good love story with well written characters I don’t want to say goodbye to.

Quotes and Highlights:

“My dad hasn’t been living here. He’s been slowly dying here.“

“I love you. Those words are yours. I’ll never say them to anyone else.”

Fake Wife by Stacey Lynn
Publication Date: January 9th, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

This marriage is strictly business . . . until the temptation gets way too real.

Sterling: I loved my grandma, but I don’t need her money. All I care about is keeping the house—the only place that’s ever felt like home. That, and screwing over my dad, who wants to turn the property into a mall. There’s only one catch: To receive my inheritance, I have to get married within six months. Me, the guy who’s never dated a girl for more than six minutes. Now I need to find a woman I can trust. So when I’m rear-ended by a Prius, I figure it’s a sign that I’m supposed to meet gorgeous, down-to-earth Teagan Monroe.

Teagan: First I lose my job. Then I come home and find out—in the most graphic way possible . . . yeah, that way—that my boyfriend is a cheating jerk. And then I speed off and nearly kill Portland’s sexiest bachelor. Sterling Lane should be pissed. Instead, he offers me more money than I’ve ever seen in my life to marry him and live together in a mansion for two years. No sex. No feelings. Just cash—enough to make all my dreams come true. *I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

What a heartfelt story with good storyline and a easygoing writing style that keeps me engaged in the story. I can’t find anything wrong about this story but if you don’t like slow-burn romance this is definitely one. At times I was frustrated but mostly it was hot......

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues is making it a very joyful read.

The characters are well written with lots of feelings, and I feel sad for Tegan that have no friends and Corbin who has parents but their not there for him.

There’s some hot love scenes in this book and their written with lots of feelings so it gets very emotional.

This was a very good version on fake spouse book that I liked very much.

EXCERPT

“You’re not going anywhere before you do two things.”
“Two things?”
“Leave your number and kiss me goodbye.”
“I…I…you haven’t brushed your teeth.”
Hunter chuckled. It felt like he could see through all of my bullshit. Reaching over to the nightstand, he grabbed his phone and held it out to me before getting up. “Toothpaste in the bathroom still?”
“The little one the hotel sets out.”
“I’ll brush. You type.”
While he was in the bathroom, I mulled over not typing anything into his phone. There was no way I was keeping in touch with a man living three-thousand miles away. A guy like him was the last thing I needed. But then I thought better of just telling him I’d put my number in. He seemed to have figured me out pretty quick. So instead, I typed my name and number, only I changed the last two digits.
And it was a good thing I did, because when Hunter returned from his bathroom trip, the first thing he did was check that I’d entered something. Luckily, he didn’t attempt to call me. Satisfied, he tossed his phone on the bed and nodded.
“Thank you. Now kiss me.”
I could see he wasn’t going to let me leave without this. So, sacrificing to make my plane, I pushed up on my toes and delivered a quick peck to his lips.
Mmm.... Nice and soft.
(And minty fresh.)
“Well…it was nice to meet you.” I turned to dart out the door, but Hunter grabbed my wrist yet again.
“I said kiss me.”
“I did!”
“Kiss me the way you kissed me last night.”
Before I could even attempt to let that sink in, Hunter yanked me against him. One of his large hands cupped the back of my neck, and he squeezed firmly to direct my head where he wanted it. Then, his lips crashed down on mine.
The shock of feeling his mouth against mine quickly dissipated as he licked my lips, encouraging me to open for him. His tongue dipped inside, and he groaned as he tilted my head and deepened the kiss. The vibration of the sound traveled between us and sent a hum through my body. Soft and gentle went out the window after that. He grabbed a fistful of my ass, and I lifted my body up onto his, wrapping my legs around his waist. As he backed us to the wall, a sense of familiarity overcame me. I couldn’t remember the specifics of our previous kiss, but I now knew deep inside what it had felt like.
My cell dropped from my hand so my fingers could tangle in his hair. Yanking on the soft strands, I couldn’t get enough. A moan from deep inside my chest moved through our connected mouths. Hunter pushed harder, his thick erection pressing into the center of my open legs. He rocked as he kissed me, causing a friction through two layers of clothing that was leading me to a place I didn’t think it was possible to go fully dressed.
It felt like he wanted to swallow me whole, and in that moment, I would have let him. My breasts were crushed to his chest, and a heartbeat raged out of control—only I wasn’t sure if it was my own or his. Jesus, where does a man learn to kiss like this?
I was breathless and stunned when our kiss broke. Hunter sucked on my bottom lip, tugging it before releasing my mouth.
His voice was strained. “Change your flight. We’re not done here.”
I swallowed, trying to gain some composure. “I can’t.” My voice was barely a whisper. It was all I could muster.

“Can’t or don’t want to?”
