Review: Outside the Lines

Outside the Lines Outside the Lines by Anna Zabo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

I absolutely love this book but then I always have a special place for anything outside the “normal”.

A poly relationship must be a real challenge and communication is the most important tool to make it work. I think the author did a good job of describing the trust between Simon and Lydia that allows them to have a open relationship. I realise that in real life there is probably more challenges than these characters have but this is fiction and it’s allowed to make it sound easy.

I like how the author puts in small conversations with secondary characters with som fun dialogues. That gives the story a feeling of connecting to the surroundings not only the connection between the main characters.

The storyline is good and the characters are well described with all their emotions and insecurities.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues make me a happy reader.

I like how the author manages to not only describe the connection building between Simon and Ian but also between Lydia and Ian. It feels like they all are bonding.

Oh, and don’t forget the love scenes; they are seriously hot!

If you like fictional books that are a little outside the lines(pun intended) this one great 5 star 💫 read.

Review: Delivered Fast

Delivered Fast Delivered Fast by Annabeth Albert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So much feelings

I loved cranky Chris and optimistic Lance, thy are as opposites as can be but they fit perfectly. I think this story was as near perfect as possible when I compare it with the first books in this series. The reason I like this one more is because it was like there were more feelings written in to this story then the other.

The storyline is good and there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so the story drives forward in a steady pace.

I felt like I got to know the characters very well in the descriptions of Lance and in the internal dialogues Chris had both about himself and Lance.

The love scenes are filled with emotions and the connection between them is described with passion.

Very good m/m romantic story worth 5 stars ⭐️

Review: Theirs to Take

Theirs to Take Theirs to Take by Laura Kaye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well written ménage

This author always manages to engage me in her stories, I feel like I’m the fly on the wall.

The characters are well written with lots of emotions and the connection between the three of them is described in a way that makes it believable.

Lots of dialogues and no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings is making it enjoyable in addition to very hot love scenes that not only describes the act but the feelings around it.

I always have a open mind when I read about ménage because this is fiction not real life so I try ty be objective and the way this story is written it makes it easy. Objectively I don’t believe serious ménage relationships is possible but reading this I wonder maybe.........

Quotes and Highlights

“It wasn’t the dominance, per se, it was that sexually dominating a partner allowed him to prioritize pleasing his lover—or lovers—in every and any way they needed. And even some ways they weren’t aware that they needed.“

“And that view…watching other people having sex while he was having sex…was a big part of why ménage aroused him so fundamentally. It added a dimension to the experience that he craved, and always had.“

“Because when you found people who accepted you for exactly who you were, you held on tight.”

This was a short but very good written story. A mistake has kept Karis from getting in contact with Cage after their one night stand. Now he comes to help her when she has a problem.

The writing style is easygoing and to the point, no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues. That’s just how I like it.

Characters descriptions is good and the emotions is coming through in their interactions.

The love scenes is well written, sweet and emotional.

Good 4 star story

Review: Baked Fresh

Baked Fresh Baked Fresh by Annabeth Albert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Realistic romance

I liked this story and especially because of how realistic it was. Both Robin and Vic has had their share of challenges. Robin with addiction and Vic with his weight. They are not feeling good enough in any way.

I liked how the author made them help each other out of their heads and see their own value.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues and there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so the story flows very well.

The characters are well described and there’s a lot of feelings.

Very good and sweet love scenes in this story.

5 star m/m romance 💫

Quotes and Highlights:

“But Robin took my dainty, little petit four of a kiss and poured hot fudge all over it, licking his way into my mouth, arms coming around my neck.”

“I kissed him back, deepening it, trying to tell him with lips and tongue and heart that all I cared about was that he was safe now.“

“We made joy and comfort and pleasure and love.”

Review: Served Hot

Served Hot Served Hot by Annabeth Albert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Short but good

This was another good read from this author, fun and sweet storyline with some angst to it on Robby’s part. I thought it was great when Robby managed to ruffle David’s coolness and make him blush.

The characters are well written and I felt like I got to know them a little bit but if I should have wished for something it is that I want both men’s POV. That would have been perfect.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues makes me a happy reader.

Good 4 star read.

Review: Cowboy Up

COWBOY UP
Coming Home – Book 3
Release Day 12/19/17
By Harper Sloan

New York Times
and USA Today bestselling author Harper Sloan returns with a passionate and breathless romance about the sparks that ignite when a cautious cowboy and a once-scorned woman open up to each other in the third installment of the Coming Home series.

As the eldest Davis, Clayton has always tried to lead by example. He takes his job as head of the family businesses seriously, making sure the farm and auto shop are running smoothly—along with keeping an eye on his brother and sister. For him, there’s a time and place to let go of the control he holds with an iron grip. And with the way he grew up, coupled with a disastrous end to his last relationship, he’s just fine with his quiet, solitary life.

Most of the time.

What he hadn't counted on was the cute, quirky, shy bookstore owner, Caroline Michaels. She's the proverbial woman next door—well, the next town over, that is. Caroline hasn't lived an easy life, but after escaping a verbally abusive ex, she's finally living it for herself. The last thing she ever expected was a one-night stand with Clay Davis she can’t stop thinking about.

So when she falls on hard times and Clay comes out of nowhere to her rescue, she realizes just how impossible it’ll be to stay away from him. Now all she has to do is convince him to live a little…. Will Clay be able to give up the reins and finally settle down? And, more importantly, will Caroline muster enough courage to lasso him up?

EXCERPT

I push my hands from his shoulders and palm his jaw as his stubble prickles against my fingers while my hands wander up to his hair. His hat falls to the ground with a thud and I know he’s just as lost in me as I am in him, because he doesn’t even make a move to pick it up. He lets out a deep grunt when I mold myself against his body, seeking some sort of friction. The next thing I know, my back is against the door and he’s gripping my bottom. His mouth hits my jaw with a bite of his teeth, making a squeak of pleasure shoot up my throat, and his deep rumble of laughter reaches my ears as he presses me harder into the door with his hips. The heavy bulge of his erection against that spot makes me so desperate for him that I whimper in relief when his mouth finally closes over mine in a wet tangle of tongues.

I’ve never been kissed so thoroughly.
This is the kind of kiss that sets the bar for any that might follow.
The kind that shows you everything you’ve been missing and everything you never knew you wanted. I’m going to be comparing every kiss I ever have to my dark cowboy’s, even though I know there’s a good chance no one will ever compare. The sounds coming from my mouth, the ones being swallowed by his, are nothing short of needy. My hips move in tandem with the thrusts of his, and even though we’re both fully clothed, I know it won’t take much more of this for me to go off like the town’s fireworks on the Fourth of July.
“Fuck, you taste just like apple pie,” he whispers against my lips, breaking away with a gasp.
“Huh?”
“Goddamn, I love apple pie,” he says before his mouth is back on mine, this time with a whole new kind of hunger deepening his kisses.
I’m held captive, enraptured. Then his hands move from my bottom to glide up my torso. He lifts his hard chest off mine and suddenly those delicious fingers are at my breasts. Even if I had big boobs his hands would dwarf them, I’m sure, but as it is he covers both with a firm grasp before adjusting his hold with a deft twist of the wrists. His mouth continues to feast on mine while his huge hands learn my body with slow movements. I tear my mouth from his with a breathy moan when he pushes my shirt up and slips his fingers into the cups of my bra to tweak my nipples.
“Oh, God,” I moan when he does it again.
“I can’t get enough of you,” he rumbles.
“Please,” I beg, not with the slightest clue as to what I’m begging for.
His hips dig even harder into mine as he leans back, supporting me against the door with that connection alone as he pulls my shirt off. The darkness makes me feel more confident than I normally would be, almost half naked with a man—no, a stranger.
“Yours too,” I tell him as his fingers move to unclasp my bra. “I want to feel your skin on mine,” I breathe, taking over the task so he’ll hopefully give me what I want.
I fumble in my haste to feel more of this dangerous arousal he’s creating in my body, but the second my bra is free and dangling toward the floor, his naked chest collides against mine, pushing me into the door with a force that sends the air rushing out of my lungs.
His mouth hits my collarbone at the same time his hands grasp my bottom, sliding me up the door until I feel the wet heat of his breath against my breast.
Then he stops.

My review:

Cowboy Up Cowboy Up by Harper Sloan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

This was a story that captured me from the beginning, Caroline is having one night of being a bad girl with a dark cowboy. Clayton can’t forget his one night with the unknown women. Then they meet again and the fireworks starts....

The writing is so filled with emotions that I had to stop reading and wipe my tears.

Another great thing about this story is that there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues. The love scenes is hot but also sweet, this author can really write love scenes.

The characters are all well written and we get to meet all the siblings throughout the story, and omg do I love the epilogue 💕

Although this is the third book in a series it can be read as a standalone, but it is more enjoyable to start at the beginning.

Caroline and Clayton’s beautiful love story is the last of the Davis siblings book and I’m sad to say goodbye to them. I also would love to hear Lucy and Luke’s stories, I think those characters has a lot of potential.

Romance with emotions and a protective cowboy, but also a women who grows stronger with the support of her cowboy, What’s not to love 💗 5 stars from me.

Review and IG tour: Gemini Keeps Capricorn

Gemini Keeps Capricorn Gemini Keeps Capricorn by Anyta Sunday
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

Another excellent slow-burn romance from this author, I’m usually not one for slow-burn romances but I thoroughly enjoyed this series. They all can be read as standalone.

The writing style is fun and I loved the characteristics of Wesley and Lloyd’s differences in personalities.
Wesley is bubbly and fun and Lloyd is grumpy and serious, still they match so well.

Bonus of this story is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues.

All the challenges Wesley has with his brother Lloyd takes on and helps him. Wesley does little every day things for Lloyd and that’s the sweetest thing.

There’s a lot of suppressed feelings from both guys but it comes to the surface through all the things they do for each other.

As always it ends in a hot and sweet love scene, not the hottest I’ve read but still satisfying when it happens.

Good 5 star m/m slow-burn romance with fun dialogues.

Quote:

“Hundreds of fights are ahead of us, Wesley. I’ll still want you around at the end of them.”

Review: Scorpio Hates Virgo

Scorpio Hates Virgo Scorpio Hates Virgo by Anyta Sunday
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this book and freely give my review*

I enjoyed this book very much even though it’s a very slow-burn romance, all the sarcasm between Percy and Cal was fun and entertaining.

The writing style is easygoing and has a good amount of dialogues and there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings.

I could see how Percy was afraid of believing in someone staying but people can surprise.

Very fun, hot and sweet m/m romance

Quotes and Highlights:

“Trust me, if I were having fun with your tools, you’d know.”

“Cal, could you date the leftovers in the fridge?” “I could try,” Cal said, picking up a Sharpie from a box on the counter, “but I have the feeling we’d be better off as friends.”

Home is this shaky idea close to a myth. When I think it might exist, I’m left falling through its mirage.”

FREE READ!

This is a epilogue to Scorpio hates Virgo and it’s short and hot. If you’ve read the first books you’ll want to read this hot little epilogue too.

Enjoyable revisit to Percy and Cal.

Review: Save the Date

Save the Date Save the Date by Annabeth Albert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good story

I liked this story but it was not as good as I would have liked to, I didn’t feel the connection between the characters, for me it was a little diffuse. But overall it’s was a enjoyable read because of:

* good storyline
* no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* lots of dialogues
* fun dialogues (especially in the beginning)

I recommend it if you like m/m romance with HEA.

Quotes and Highlights:

“He swore his nose had known he was gay long before the rest of him had.”

“Randall bit his lip, trying his best to answer with just his eyes how very, very much he wanted to let Sgt. Sexy take charge.”

“Last summer, he hadn’t had any clue that his life had a giant Randall-sized hole in it, that this was what he’d been searching for, that he needed this, but he really did.”

Review: After We Fall

After We Fall After We Fall by Melanie Harlow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Crying ending

Delightful story about loss and love. I listened to audiobook and that was very good, it’s not always the case but the duo reading had very soothing voices so I enjoyed it.

The storyline was good and the characters was well written so the book was packed with emotions. I got the feeling of knowing the characters inner thoughts and emotions through the story.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues make it extra enjoyable.

I laughed, cried and was embarrassed on their behalf, in other words I disappeared in the book and that’s a big 5 stars for me.

Review: Leo Loves Aries

Leo Loves Aries Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a great book

I love this book, it was fun, sweet, romantic and hot. It had everything I like in a book and the right amount of it.

The storyline is good and the slow building of feelings between Jamie and Theo was excellent. I could really picture them bantering and teasing each other and the feelings showing in their eyes.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues makes it a very enjoyable read.

Both the main characters and the secondary characters was very well written, I felt like I knew them in the end of the book.

I highly recommend this book if you like m/m romance. 5 stars 🤩 from me for this wonderful read.

Quotes and Highlights:

“His mom, his dad, his sister, and his friends were as rainbow-supporting as they came. He lived in a bubble of acceptance he hoped would eventually cover the world.“

Review: About That Fling

About That Fling About That Fling by Tawna Fenske
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wonderful chaos

Jenna’s one night stand turns out to be so much more than that. Her working private relationships will all be affected.

Note that I alternately read and listened to this book and the audible was very good.

I love this book so much because of the realism in it, this could happen in real life. As a person familiar with the consequences of a divorce I could relate to the story.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues and there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings. I laughed at Adam and Jenna’s dialogues, they seemed so connected and carefree at the first meeting.

I felt like I got to know the characters very good and could easily have read more of them.

If you like fun and realistic romance that are well written I will recommend this one highly. It’s high on my my list of good reads this year!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies—usually wine—and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy—unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.

EXCERPT
“Can I help you?” I asked.
He blinked and met my eyes.
“What the hell are you doing over there?” I pushed to stand up straight.
“Right now?” He capped his water bottle. “Well, honestly… I’m just thinking you’d look better over the hood of that car than under it.”
I unhooked the hood and slammed it down, spinning on the balls of my feet.
Our eyes met properly. I didn’t like what I saw in his—desire, attraction, need. Which was obviously why a shiver ran down my spine.
I cocked a hip, putting my hand on it. “The only time you will ever get me over a hood of a car is if a wiper blade needs changing. So, unless you’re a wiper blade...”
Dex pulled his phone from his pocket and started tapping the screen.
I blinked. “What are you doing?”
He peered up at me through his unfairly thick eyelashes. “Seeing if I can get a wiper blade costume
for Halloween.”
“I don’t even know how to respond to that.”
“You can buy wiper blade glasses.”
“What?”
He raised his eyebrows. “And a lady here on eBay will hand-make any costume. There’s my Halloween sorted.”
I stared at him. “You’re not getting me over anything, Dex. Definitely not a car hood. No matter what you think.”
He clutched his chest dramatically. “You wound me.”
“Unfortunately not fatally,” I muttered.
“You also underestimate me.”
“There’s a lot of that going around in this garage.” I put the bottle of coolant away.
“Touché.”
“Thank you.”
“Can I ask you something?”
I sighed and turned to face him again. “What?”
Earnestly, he asked, “Can you stop wearing those tiny shorts? Or yoga pants that make me want to touch your ass every five minutes?”
I looked down at the ripped shorts of my dungarees. “Can you keep your thoughts to yourself? Control yourself, maybe? Not look at me and see someone worth screwing?”

*I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

I liked this book but the storyline was a little weak, Dex and his negativity towards women in his garage seemed a little forced and I found Jamie’s sassy attitude a tiny bit to much. But the author has a hilarious writing style with lots of fun dialogues and descriptions of the characters moods.

The characters are well written but not the best from this author. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues saves this story for me.

The love scenes are hot but again not some of the best deliveries.

I feel like I only says negative things about this book but I have to say I was disappointed because I’ve read some good stories from this author and this one just didn’t do it for me. That said, I did enjoy reading it even if it’s barely a 4 star ⭐️ from me.

Review: Just One Kiss

Just One Kiss Just One Kiss by B.B. McNeil
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and freely give my review*

Leah and Matthew have a obvious attraction but they also have some obstacles to overcome before being together.

This book had some serious hot scenes and for that I give it credit but there are some other things I didn’t like in this book; to much unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a storyline that was to much back and forth.

The story has a lot of potential but I don’t enjoy when it’s to many misunderstandings and in addition I don’t feel as if they have cleared it up at the end even if it’s a HEA. The lack of communication between the characters was for me mostly irritating.

All the unnecessary descriptions of surroundings made the enjoyment of the read not top notch. That’s just sad because this book has major potential. The characters are well written with lots of emotions and the connection between Leah and Matthew is described clearly from the beginning.

I give this book 4 star 🌟

Review: Ride Hard

Ride Hard Ride Hard by Laura Kaye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sucked in to the Raven Riders world

The story about Haven and Dare is in typical Kaye style; sweet, rough, exiting, hot and filled with hope. Hope of a better life for everyone involved and for the good to win over the bad. I’m so tired over reading the critical voices towards romance books and so happy I have the ability to disappear in to the world of romantic stories that gives me hope.

Kaye is one of the many authors that with her writing can make me forget the world around me, her writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues so I can easily step in to the world of Raven Riders.
There is also no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so I enjoyed this book very much. It’s all about the characters and their feelings and how they see and cope with their life.

The characters are well described with a lot of emotions and the connection between Haven and Dare is there from the first moment building to be stronger moving forward.

Dare has wounds from the past that has made him the man he is today. Haven is used to hide in the shadow and I love how Dare made her come out from there. They healed each other.

And now I’m sucked in to the world of Raven Riders, I can’t stop with this book even if it can be read as a standalone. I need to hear what happens to Mavrick.......and where does Cora end up❓

Quotes and highlights:

“I need you to try to judge me on my actions and my words, not on the actions and words of the people who came before me in your life.”

“Oh, Haven,” he said, “you have no idea what I’d be willing to do for you if you wanted me to.”

“You, Haven. Always you. I’m fucking starving for you. All the time. You think you’re not wanted? I want you. I want you so much I don’t know what I’m doing half the time. Every minute of every day, all I can think about is you.”

Review: The Rescuer

The Rescuer The Rescuer by Eric Huffbind
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this book from the author and freely give my review*

I really wanted to enjoy this book because the storyline is very good but the stilted writing and to much use of characters names made it not quite so enjoyable.

Descriptions of feelings are lacking in most of the story and I feel like it’s a naive writing style. When that’s said the story in itself is good and it was easy to read because it was so naive in the style.

Overuse of the characters name was one of my main reasons for not enjoying this book as much as I wanted to, it was so extreme I had to look it up:
➖725 times the name Jason is said in the book
➖905 times the name Chris is said in the book
I’ve never experienced that in a book before so it was weird.
I actually had to check other books in my library to see if I was mistaken about this. My discovery was that books of that same length or longer normally mention main characters name between 150-300 times.

What was very likeable in this story was the straight forward way any subjects was discussed with openness. At the end of the book some feelings came forward in the characters in a better way than in the beginning so at the ending of the book I felt more enjoyment reading. I felt like I knew the characters a little better in the end but it took awhile.

There is a lot of dialogues and no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings but I wish there were more internal dialogues where you get a better feeling of the characters emotions.

My conclusion is that this is a very romantic book and it’s the debut novel so if I’m objective this is a good first book. Strong 3 stars 🌟 and if this author continues to write I’m curious to how he will mature in the writing style.

Review: The Bad Boy's Baby

The Bad Boy's Baby The Bad Boy's Baby by Cindi Madsen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

I love this story, it was so sweet and fun just as I expected it to be from this author. Every time I read one of her books I think; oh, I have to read more of her books.

Emma has a daughter she raises on her own but when Cam, Zoe’s father comes home again things happen.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues so I get lost in the story. There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings which makes it even better.

Development of the characters is nice throughout the story, I feel like Emma and Cam grow stronger together and i get to know them very well by the end.

Both Emma and Cam had their childhood experiences that has shaped them in to the people they are now. Even so the author makes them mature more when facing the challenges of coparenting.

In the end I fell in love with Emma, Cam and Zoe, a sweet family to be, because this is a HEA.

This is a book in a series but can be read as a standalone, I haven’t read the first two books but I enjoyed this one very much. Some day when my schedule isn’t so tight I will read the other ones too.
