Review: Porn Star

Porn Star Porn Star by Laurelin Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So much more then p*rn

I love this book, sexy, funny, sad and more meaningful then I thought it would be.
Two porn stars falling in love and all the compilations that involves. What the h*ll!!!

I liked the writing style because it's filled with dialogues and has understandable sentences even when they describes the thoughts in the characters minds.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and well described characters makes this journey very enjoyable.

Logan was not very likeable in the beginning but he grew on me so in the end I loved him the most 😍

This is a book that gives you a little more understanding about the struggles some people have in the industry. Because the industry is here to stay it's just a human right to make the people working in it feel safe. (that's all the seriousness I'll put out there)

Anyway, this was a 5 star read.

Review: Say Yes

Say Yes Say Yes by J.R. Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC and are freely giving my review of it*

There was emotions and feelings written in to this story but it felt like it just scratched the surface and that didn't give the story depth enough in my opinion.

However the storyline was good, and I liked very much that the was no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues.

The start of the story was a little weird but the middle was great and then the end.....what was that?????????? Most of all this story confused me, I was left feeling that the author wanted me to guess the meaning behind the words........maybe I'm wrong but it was not a fulfilling book for me.

The love scenes in the middle of the book was great and for a moment I could feel the connection between James and Charles but it didn't last, for me at least.

Maybe the lack of background information was a part of the feeling that something was missing in this story, I really don't know.

I'm not sure if I loved or hated the story , I choose to give it a weak 4 stars because I feel it has a lot of potential.

Book Blurb:

James failed.
He tried to be what they wanted.
He tried to deny it.
He tried to be a good Catholic boy…but it’s become too much.
He craves pain, submission.
He’s denied himself far too long, and it’s eating him alive.

Charles thrives off the exchange of power. He knows the world revolves around control. It’s given and taken like currency, in business and in pleasure. He won’t get attached, though, or so he tells himself, until James turns his world upside down. He’s defiant and snarky, but Charles can taste the submission on him.

Charles holds the key to his salvation but James has to Say Yes.

What are other authors saying about Say Yes?

Author Kerry Heavens says: “Yes - to the delicious slow burn which goes head to head with an intense urgency. Yes - to James' soft vulnerability that meets its match in Charles' steely determination. Yes - to the forbidden vs the shameless. Yes - to more...I'm saying YES!”

Excerpt :

“It’s a good thing I never lose.” He turned away, with astute arrogance which couldn’t be faked. It took years of Upper East Side inbreeding to obtain the level of innate sophistication, above even the level of wealth James had been raised with.
“Maybe this will be the first time,” even as James said the words he wanted to swallow them back.
“I don’t think so.” Charles’s voice was almost sing-songy.
“Cocky dick,” James muttered under his breath, not loud enough for Charles to hear him, or so he thought.
“I think you need a little bit of this dick.” He kept getting further away, and James felt like he was losing him.
“Come back here.”
“Well since you asked so nicely.” He flashed him a wink and stalked in close, like the last twenty minutes hadn’t happened. He lifted a hand and placed it at the base of James’ neck.
“Not here.” James glanced around. No one was looking, but they were still so exposed, which seemed an absurd idea considering where they were, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it—yet.
Yet? Where had that idea come from? James was reeling. He’d never even given in to the temptation of fucking a man, and now he was considering submitting to one in public. He must have lost his damn mind.
Charles fisted a hand in his shirt. “Tell me where?”
The look in his eyes made his knees weak. “Who’s the dominant here?”
Charles tightened his grip on James’ throat. The pressure wasn’t suffocating, but arousing, owning—possessive even. He’d never felt so turned on in his life. The next morning he’d
expect to find bruises.

“I want you, and I’m going to have you.” Charles’ voice had dropped so low, James could barely hear it.

Author Bio:

When not staying up all night writing, J.R. Gray can be found at the gym where it's half assumed he is a permanent resident to fulfill his self-inflicted masochism. A dominant and a pilot, Gray finds it hard to be in the passenger seat of any car. He frequently interrupts real life, including normal sleep patterns and conversations, to jot down notes or plot bunnies. Commas are the bane of his existence even though it's been fully acknowledged they are necessary, they continue to baffle and bewilder. If Gray wasn't writing…well, that's not possible. The buildup of untold stories would haunt Gray into an early grave, insanity or both. The idea of haunting has always appealed to him. J.R. Gray is genderqueer and prefers he/him pronouns.

Review: Ray of Life

Ray of Life Ray of Life by E.L. Todd
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and are freely giving my review of it*

The last book in this series is good and it contains a little twist to the story that I especially liked.

Ryker has grown so much since he started out dating Rae and I just like him more and more.

The storyline is good and the characters are well written with a lot of feelings. It's no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues so it's a joyful read.

What I also like is how the secondary characters gets a part in the story too, it's good to get to know how their lives are.

The writing style is easygoing and makes this a quick story to read.

I recommend reading the other books in this series before starting this one.

Well done, 5 stars from me.

Review: The Hunting Grounds

The Hunting Grounds The Hunting Grounds by Katee Robert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Former FBI agent Maggie works as a park ranger when a body is found, this leads to her former partner Vic turning up to investigate. She had a crush on him in the past but is it still in the past, and will they catch the unsub who is escalating his killing?

Another thrilling story where I didn't have a clue about who the unsub was until it was revealed and that's one of the most important thing in a good thriller.

Katee Robert can write more than romance, I loved this story so much; it kept me on the edge of my chair the whole time and it had a little romance as a secondary story in the book.

The author has a writing style that's easygoing and has lots of dialogues which makes it a very enjoyable read.

I think the storyline was very good, the build up to the final reveal of the unsub was so good and so unexpected.

This was a good 5 star thriller in my opinion.

Review: Misconduct

Misconduct Misconduct by Samantha Kane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

I'm absolutely in love with this series and I think part of the reason is that it's written with so much emotion and passion that it feels real.

The issues both Danny and Carmina has is that they can't stop thinking for different reasons.
I loved the way Tom found out what Carmina needed in the bedroom through Danny, and how he takes control after that and enjoys it.

The relationship between them is intense and the way the author describes it is emotional and loving.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a good amount of dialogues is for me the things that makes this a perfect story.

Another thing the author does that makes me enjoy her story is that the characters are well written and they are communicating with each other.

The fact that this is ménage and contains mature content should not scare you away, it's a good storyline too....

Hot 5 stars ✨

Review: Eyes On You

Eyes On You Eyes On You by Laura Kaye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and are freely giving my review of it*

It's no secret that I love a well written BDSM romance and this is no exception, Lara Kaye know how to write good stories with hot scenes and romance blooming between the characters.

This story is about voyeurism and exhibitionism and it was interesting and intriguing to read about.

The connection between Wolf and Liv is there from the first moment and he instinctively know what she needs, she on the other hand have had someone tell her it's wrong to want what she wants.

The story is intense and good, short but great read.

As always the lack of unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues makes this a excellent read.

Great 5 star read.

Excerpt:

Oh, nope. Nopenopenope. A thousand, million times, nope.
She shoved up out of her chair, and the napkin tumbled from her lap to the floor. As stunned as she was, she wasn’t sure which happened first—Jerry asking where she was going or Wolf appearing at her side.

“God, Liv. It really is you,” Wolf said. “I worried I’d never see you again.”
Liv blinked, swallowed, and played along as she stared up at that handsome Nordic face, all dark-blond and sharp-jawed good looks. “Wolf. Wow. I can’t believe it’s you.”
He stepped closer. “I see you’re in the middle of something here…”
“Yes, she is,” Jerry said. “If you’ll excuse us.”
Wolf ignored him. “…but after the way we last parted, I promised myself if I ever saw you again, I wasn’t going to let you get away twice.”
Liv was nearly breathless. Was he role-playing or talking about their brief encounter? Either way, her response was the same. “I don’t want you to let me get away.”
She felt out of her element, outside the bounds of propriety, out of control. She had no idea what she was doing here, what she was maybe getting into with this man who was, except for an intense five-minute conversation, a total stranger. She had no idea…except that her head said How could it be worse than my date? And her instincts said Go with Wolf, go with Wolf, go with Wolf. And her body said And climb him while you’re at it.
“Damn, I hoped you’d say that,” Wolf said, green eyes flashing. And then he took her into his arms and kissed her. Right there. In the middle of the bar of a fancy steakhouse. In front of
Jerry, who was babbling in outrage that Liv couldn’t hear.

Because Wolf dominated every other sense. His hard chest crushing her breasts and his big hands cupping her jaw and sliding into her hair. His cool tongue licking across her lips. His shower-clean scent adding to the Prosecco to make her head swim. Liv stood frozen and still for long seconds, not because she didn’t like the kiss, but because she did. Oh, man, she really freaking did.

Review: Mastering Her Senses

Mastering Her Senses Mastering Her Senses by Laura Kaye
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great read

I enjoyed this story very much but I didn't like the theme of sensory play so that's the reason for 4 stars, STRONG 4 stars!!!!

The storyline is good and the characters are well described.

In my opinion this author has a way of writing books that are so full of emotions that you get dragged in to the story.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues is a good bonus.

Normally I wouldn't compare authors but when I started reading BDSM one of the first authors I read was Cherise Sinclair and I love her books. Laura Kaye is in the same category as her so if you have read anything from her I guarantee you will like this series.

Now I have an ARC of the next in this series waiting for me ❤️

Review: Bound to Submit

Bound to Submit Bound to Submit by Laura Kaye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow

It's been a while since I cried this much from reading but this book was so emotional devastating and sweet that the Kleenex was piling up.
Kennan and Griffin is both carrying feelings of guilt for different reasons when the meet again after years apart.
The storyline was really good and the chemistry between the main characters is sizzling hot and so sweet.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues is a sure way to my reading heart ❤️
This is a story about loss, acceptance, survival but most of all about love that never dies.
Book 2 in Blasphemy series was even better than the first.
If you like BDSM and rope play this book is excellent and the authors descriptions of the bounding is very well done.
The combination of BDSM and romance is one of the things that made it so enjoyable.
Amazing 5 star ⭐️

Review: Sin

Sin Sin by Emma Hart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and are freely giving my review of it*

Well, in the beginning I didn't like the story so much, maybe it was the writing style with the short sentences and quick shifts between character lines. That was just the first chapters then it grew on me big, when I finished I loved it.

Dahlia refuses to sell her bar when Damien comes with an offer, he infuriates her but at the same time he is intriguing. Damien and Dahlia both have experienced great losses but they are in different stages of the process of healing. Can Dahlia help Damien start living again?

The story is well written and I want so much to know what happened to Damien's family but the author keeps me on the edge all the time.

There's a lot of feelings and the characters are full of emotions even though at times I'm annoyed at them. But that's only because I want to know they get each other, me impatient?......noooooo.........

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues equals happy me.

The love building between Damien and Dahlia is well written so it feels realistic that they eventually fall in love.

I laughed and I cried and I wondered, just how a book should make me feel. Happy to give it 5 stars.

SIN

SIN
A Vegas Nights Novel Book 1
By Emma Hart
Standalone
Release Day – July 18

Damien Fox lived up to his name. Cunning, sly, and dangerous, fifty percent of Vegas’ strip clubs were his.
Whatever he wanted, money, attention, women, he got.
And now he wanted to buy my bar, no matter the cost.
I wanted him to go to hell on a first-class ticket.
He played a dirty game, and I followed his rules. I let him think he would win.
Despite our differences, it was clear to see that we were no more than two broken hearts colliding in the darkness.
Closed off, sexy, and holding a pain that would crush a lesser man, he was the ultimate sin.
One I couldn’t deny myself, even though I knew better than to trust a fox...

Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.

Review: Kiss My Boots

Kiss My Boots Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Omg, Harper Sloan can really rattle my brain and slice my heart open, so much feelings..........
When Quinn gets a phone call from the one person she'd never expected to hear from again her whole world shifts. Tate once left the one girl he loves without a word, what she don't know is the reason. Now he's back to fight for their future.

The second book in this series is just as good as the first one I absolutely love the characters and adding Tate to the mix don't make it less appealing. He's strong, caring, driven and honest. His love for Quinn is undeniable and I like how considerate he is to her brothers wen he knows they do anything for her.

Quinn is a hell-raiser and want nothing to do with Tate but when she learns the truth she's forced to consider the possibility that her feelings have never changed.
The storyline is good an I like the little snippets from the past.

I like the light and fun writing style even when the topics are heavy. I laughed and I cried and enjoyed this book so much.

The characters are well described with lots of feelings so I feel like I got to know them very well.

This is a story about love that they thought was lost, but it was not at all lost. The sort of connection the author describes is never lost.

I now hope for a book about the third Davis sibling also finding his love ❤️

Review: Chasing Destiny

Chasing Destiny Chasing Destiny by Megan Erickson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and are freely giving my review of it*

Bay and ❤️ is that enough said....probably not but it's hard to put in to word how much I enjoyed this story without it sounding like a cliche.

This is the second book in the Silver Tip Pack series and in the first book we got to know Bay who seemed a little reckless but in this book he stepped in to the light and became a man with backbone.

I love what Bay has become and the chemistry between the two main characters are undeniably sizzling.

Without giving spoilers it's not easy to review but I must say that the amount of struggles Bay's mate have gone through is heartbreaking and it's no wonder he don't trust himself to have control when he's shifting.

The storyline is good and there are lots of dialogues, which I prefer in a book. The most amazing thing of all is that I've never been drawn to shifter stories before I read the first book in this series and now I'm enjoying it so much.

This author are among the authors that in my experience seems to put their heart and soul in to the story. The book is packed with emotions and it makes me feel like I participate in the story. For me that's the ultimate goal when I read a book, so well done to Megan Erickson, you have given me another 5 star ⭐️ book to live in.

PS: THE COVER.........just fantastic!
